Paula Patton was born in Los Angeles to a middle-class family. Her childhood was filled having big hopes. Her most memorable roles include the film about spying, Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol, and the drama Precious. The majority of her childhood was spent living in Los Angeles where she came from a middle class family. Her parents were a loving mother, who was a fan of films. Paula became involved in many co-curricular activities in school and had particular passion for dramatics. She was a member of her class and was a part of the school's plays. Hamilton Magnet Arts High School staged a variety of plays, and the actor decided that acting was her chosen career. She was a student at in the University of Southern California for an intensive summer program and was enthralled by the experience. She was given a three month assignment to make documentary films for PBS. After completing the assignment, she began working as an assistant in the production of TV documentaries. Next, she was going to begin producing documentaries. She loved her work, but she still wanted to be an actor. Her first acting gig came with a small role in Will Smith's romantic comedy Hitch. In the years since, she has been in numerous popular films and television shows.
